LITE ROCK Z95.1 “Christmas Star” 2014
OFFICIAL RULES
1. Beginning November 10, 2014, Lite Rock Z95.1/WQMZ/Z95 will give choirs/groups/performance units/solo performers (from here to fore called performers) in the Charlottesville Area a chance to win the opportunity to be heard on the radio. Prize will be awarded to the final winner as described below.
2. Performers are responsible for submitting entries before 5pm November 30 2014. Each entry must include one (1) holiday song recorded on CD or common audio file such as an mp3 or wav and include the lead representative’s name, school, and contact information. The representative submitting the entry is responsible for having received previous written permission from all performers or from a parent or legal guardian if the performer is less than 18 years of age.
3. One entry per person, choir, singing group or performance unit. Realizing that schools and churches may have multiple choirs/performance groups, separate multiple entries may be submitted from any individual school. Each entry must be submitted as a separate MP3 file via the link on www.LiteRockZ951.com. Entry deadline is November 30, 2014 at 5pm.
4. Each entry will be judged for professional sound and performance quality. Voting begins 12/1/14 at 12:00pm. Votes will be taken and tabulated on the website www.LiteRockZ951.com (through the UPICKEM platform) from 12:00pm Monday 12/1/14 through 6:00pm Sunday 12/7/13. To participate in voting you must become a registered user through uPickem. Grand Prize winner will be determined on 12/8/14. The performer receiving the most votes on the Z95 website will win the prize. In the event of a tie a panel of judges from Z95 will determine the winner based on sound and performance quality. Z95 is not responsible for inability to vote on the station’s website (or the UPICKEM) due to technical difficulties of any kind. Prize cannot be transferred or substituted.
4a. If an entrant receives irregular votes from the same user or users, including but not limited to votes generated by a robotic, programmed, script, macro, other automated means or other source, Z95 reserves the right to disqualify the entrant in its sole discretion.
5. Contest is open to all performers in the Charlottesville area within listening range of WQMZ-FM. Chances of winning will be determined by the number of entries received and votes received and are not possible to calculate at this time.
6. Z95 retains sole and exclusive possession and retains all rights to use any performance entry, or any part there of, indefinitely in any promotions including but not limited to on-air usage. The aforementioned stipulations apply to all winning and non-winning entries. Z95 and participating sponsors are not responsible for cost associated with submitting any entry or any costs or taxes arising out of participating in the contest or failure to adhere to official contest rules.
7. Z95 and participating sponsors are not responsible for any injury incurred during the performance of any entry; nor are they responsible for failure of any individual or organization’s failure to submit entries in the required manner.
8. All prizes are to be claimed at the Z95 Studios or as decided upon once they have been won. Winners are required to present a valid article of identification. All identification submitted to verify a winner is subject to acceptance by Z95 in its sole discretion. Identification which is counterfeit, illegible, tampered with or otherwise altered will not be accepted.
9. Where applicable; Z95, affiliates, participating sponsors, their agencies and the like, or any member thereof, make no claims of merchantability or validity of Prize. See manufacturer(s)/ producer for complete warranty and operating instructions as it pertains to Prize.
10. Employees of Z95 and Charlottesville Radio Group, Inc. and its ultimate parent company, Saga Communications, Inc., their advertising agencies, affiliates, contest sponsors, employees and immediate families of each, and employees of all radio media of mass communication within a one hundred mile radius of the Z95 main studio are not eligible to win any contest. Immediate family includes the spouse, great-grandparents, grandparents, parents, brothers, sisters, children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren of the employee and his/her spouse. This also includes individuals for whom the employee is current legal guardian.
11. All decisions of Z95 concerning this contest or eligibility are final.
12. Contest may be ended or amended at any time.
13. No purchase is necessary.
14. Z95 reserves the right to
not award the prize, if for any reason Z95 determines the song with the most
votes is not suitable in any way for radio play.
15. Prize has no cash value.
16. All Z95 General Rules Apply.

No purchase necessary. One valid entry per contestant.
This contest is void where prohibited by law.
Winners will be notified by email. If a winner is unreachable after seven (7) days, or if that winner is unavailable for prize fulfillment, an alternate winner will be selected. If Cville Radio cannot find an eligible winner for the prize, that prize will not be awarded.
Odds of winning depend on the number of eligible entries received.
Automated voting of any kind is not allowed. Detection of said automated voting will lead to votes being voided.
Only one registered account per voter. If multiple accounts are detected for a single voter, they will be disabled and votes disqualified.
Cville Radio reserves the right to substitute any prize with another prize of equal or greater value.
Cville Radio reserves the right to restrict the local winners to only persons whose primary residence is within a 100 mile radius of the affiliate's' office.
Employees of Cville Radio, its respective parent, affiliates, subsidiaries, advertising sponsors and promotional agencies, and the immediate family members of each are not eligible.
Contest entrants agree to abide by the terms of these Official Rules and by the decisions of the contest commissioners, which are final on all matters pertaining to the contest.
Entrants further grant to Cville Radio the right to use and publish their proper name and state online and in print, or any other media, in connection with the Contest.
Cville Radio reserves the right to use any and all information related to the Contest, including information on contestants obtained through the contest, for marketing purposes or any other purpose, unless prohibited by law.
The Contest and all of the related pages, contents and code are copyright, UPICKEM, and/or Cville Radio. Copying or unauthorized use of any copyrighted materials, trademarks or any other intellectual property without the express written consent of its owner is strictly prohibited.
Each winner, by acceptance of the prize, agrees to release all Sponsors, and their parent and subsidiary companies, their officers, directors, employees, agents, shareholders, affiliates, suppliers, distributors, and advertising agencies from all liability, claims, or actions of any kind whatsoever for injuries, damages, or losses to persons and property which may be sustained in connection with the receipt, ownership, or use of the prize.
UPICKEM and Cville Radio are not responsible for Internet crashes or slowdowns caused by network congestion, viruses, sabotage, satellite failures, phone line failures, electrical outages, natural disasters or acts of man or God.
All results posted are unofficial until winners respond to e-mail notification.
Each winner is responsible for all federal, state and local taxes and will be required to complete an IRS form W-9. Sponsor reserves the right to withhold prizes until completed form W-9 is received.
This contest is not intended for gambling. If it is determined that a contestant is using the contest for gambling purposes they will be disqualified and reported to authorities.
Cville Radio reserves the right to change the rules at any time.
